João Canas Ferreira

João Canas Ferreira received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Porto (Portugal) in 2001. He is currently an Associate Professor (with tenure) with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, and a senior researcher at INESC TEC, where he conducts research pn dynamically reconfigurable systems, application-specific digital system architectures, sensor networks and flexible hardware for cognitive radio.
He has autored or co-authored more than 80 papers in international conferences and journals.
He has participated in numerous European and national research projects.
He has been active in the organization of several conferences in the area of digital systems design and is handling editor for Microprocessors and Microsystems.
He is senior member of IEEE, and a member of ACM and Euromicro.
